»Politics: Ondo state governor Dr Olusegun Mimiko has left the Labour Party (LP) to join Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Both Labour party leaders and Peoples Democratic Party leaders have confirmed the news to Akure newsmen.
Ondo information Commissioner, Kayode Akinmade said that due to the intense pressure from PDP stakeholders since during the Osun state Governorship election, Mimiko is still consulting with important stakeholders across the nation.
Akinmade said: for now the governor is still in Labour Party even if he will eventually move he cannot take a unilateral decision on this matter.
However another Commissioner in the cabinet Barrister Remi Olatubora of Adult Education Ministry told newsmen: I woke up this morning as a LP chieftain but going to bed tonight as a PDP chieftain
Dr. Olusegun Mimiko is the only only member of the Labour Party to win gubernatorial office in Nigeria having beaten incumbent Olusegun Agagu at the election tribunal for the 2007 gubernatorial elections.
