Female Student Sells Her Newborn Baby For N620,000

A student of the Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Vivian Iwuji andher boyfriend, Obinna Ugochukwu have been arrested by the Imo state police for selling their new born baby boy for the sum of N620,000. Female student and boyfriend sell baby for N620,000 Vivian who gave birth to a baby boy on August 2, 2014 decided with her boyfriend to sell their baby to a buyer, one Ehegalara Edwin who was also arrested by the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of the Imo State Police Command, Owerri. Luckily, the neew born baby boy was rescued from the buyer. Their arrest was made possible by Vivian’s father, Mr Patrick Iwuji who reported to the police that him and his wife were aware that their daughter, Vivian was pregnant but he was not convinvced of his daughter explanation about the whereabout of his grand-child. Gwoza Boko Haram Use Captured Policemen As Trainers

Disturbing news come from Gwoza town in Borno state, as Boko Haram members now allegedly use captured police college as their training grounds and its instructors as teachers. The college is a riot police academy in Liman Kara, on the outskirts of Gwoza. It was overrun by terrorists on August 20, 2014, Wednesday. FG Assures Of Stable Power Supply By October 2014

The Federal Government of Nigeria made a highly-controversial statement on August 29, 2014, Friday, promising to ensure stable power supply by October 2014. This has been contained in the statement by the Minister of Power Prof Chinedu Nebo, who declared at the State House, Abuja, while briefing the newsmen upon the termination of a meeting hosted by Vice President Namadi Sambo. Tambuwal Advises Jonathan On 2015 Elections

Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal on Saturday, 30 August, 2014, advised President Goodluck Jonathan not to over-militarize the upcoming 2015 general election in the country. The mothers and fathers of the over 200 girls who were kidnapped from Chibok in Borno have lost hope that their daughters can be found alive. They said that they had already performed funeral rites for their daughters in their minds and now only wanted to officially bury their corpses. The girls were abducted 131 days ago and despite constant reassurances from the government that they would be found, they are still missing. The parents are now urging the government to at least return their daughters’ bodies so that they can receive honourable burials. This decision was revealed at the meeting of the #BringBackOurGirls movement in Abuja yesterday, August 22, 2014 in commemoration of the 130th day of the girls’ abduction. The schoolgirls were kidnapped on April 14, 2014.

The Department of State Services has raised alarm over fears that some female suicide bombers are planning to carry out bombing attacks in Nigeria while dressed in Catholic Reverend Sisters attire. Ebola Virus: Indian Prostitutes Warned to stay away from Africans client

Commercial sex workers in India have been warned to stay away from African clients due to the Ebola virus which is currently plaguing some countries in the Western part of the continent. The directive was given to prostitutes operating in India’s largest city, Kolkata, Sonagachi. Durbar Mahila Samanwaya Committee, an Indian NGO informed a gathering of 130,000 sex workers about the risks involved if contact was made with an Ebola patient. The DMSC also provided training for different classes of sex workers to enable them know if a person had been infected with Ebola.

Pa Michael Idibia took his final breath this evening at an undisclosed hospital in Abuja after a battle with prostate cancer. He was diagnosed of the disease earlier this year and 2face broke the news during the Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy (CECP) cancer charity event which held on June 8, 2014 at the Eko Hotel & Suites in Lagos. The family hasn't issued an official statement on the death but it has reportedly been confirmed by 2face’s Manager, Efe Omoregie. May the soul of the departed rest in peace.

BREAKING! Nigerian Doctors Call Off Strike

After 65 days, the Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, has suspended its strike. They made the announcement on their official twitter handle yesterday, and today, NMA president, Kayode Obembe, told journalists that the association decided to suspend the strike because of the Ebola outbreak.  The General Secretary of the NMA, Dr.Adewunmi Alayaki also told reporters that the NMA decided to suspend the strike after several meetings with the Nigerian health authorities. He did not disclose in details the outcome of the meetings but stated that all striking doctors are expected back to work at 8:00 AM tomorrow  (Monday) morning.
